Rotterdam Records is the oldest Hardcore Label, founded in 1992 by Paul Elstak.
In 2001 Neophyte and DJ Panic took Controll over this Label as A&R Manager.
To the Rotterdam Records Family belong those following Sublabels:
-FORZE RECORDS
DJ Paul originally intended to call his label Force Records because he is a big Star Wars fan. But he didn't get the permission from George Lucas' people so he decided to go with Forze.
It was basicly founded as Sublabel of Rotterdam Records to release more the Happy and Party influenced Stuff, which was big and wanted at this Time.
But nowadays its more used to "normal" Dutch Mainstyle Hardcore and Party Gabber.
-DARKSIDE RECORDS
Only these 7 releases were made (in 1997 & 1998), and there will never be any new ones, means this Label is defunkt now. In the year 2003 there were plans to revive the label with some new releases, under which 2 tracks from Mental Wreckage to be released as Darkside 008, but these plans were cancelled and a new label was born instead; SYMP.TOM which is nowadays a Sublabel of NEOPHYTE RECORDS.
-ROTTERDAM RECORDS CLASSICS
Used for Old Classical Releases from Rotterdam Records with unreleased Tracks and new Remixes or old Hard to Get Tunes from Rotterdam Records and as well smashing Oldschool Tunes and Early Rave Hits from other Labels.
-ROTTERDAM RECORDS SPECIAL
Used for Tunes like the Nightmare in Rotterdam Anthem, even if it's hard to understand sometimes why the releases used on this label and not on the Parent label. It seems as if mainly Artists that don't belong to the Midtown Family are released on this Label like Inferno Bros. or the Fly by Wire Release.
-TERROR TRAXX
Like Forze Records was founded as Sublabel of Rotterdam Records to release more the Happy influenced Stuff, Terror Traxx was used for the harder and faster Releases. But with the Time more and more Happy and nowadays also "normal" Mainstyle Hardcore is released on this Label, so you can't hear nowadays any big differences to the parent Label Rotterdam Records.
-ROTTERDAM TEKNO
Rotterdam Tekno was born in 1997 and gets famous for their brilliant Hard House and Newstyle Releases by Acts like Da Tekno Warriros, Marc V. and Poogie Bear Since 2005 the Sound changed and the the Label hits direction with Jump Style.
