The Rough Bunnies - The Story
Frida was born in Högsby, Sweden 6. april 1983
Anna was born in Malmö, Sweden 9. august 1981
We are cousins, our mothers are sisters, the`re called Barbara and Kerstinija.
We are both the child in the middle in our families, with one older and one younger brother each.
Maybe that`s why we are so interested in physical education like sport, swimming and dancing. Frida has once been the best child in sweden in orientation, the sport where you`re running in the forest with a map. As a child Anna was the best in sweden in canoepaddleing, the sport where you`re sitting in a microscopic boat and paddle. We also like to discover new areas with our bikes, but we dont like to stress.
We are inspired by different kind of music, from Azerbajdjan folkmusic and Flamenco to The Buzzcocks and Stefan Sundström, a swedish delicious singer. Frida also has a huge cd-collection, with many burned cd`s with many exciting pop-bands.
We have always played together. 15 and 17 years old we formed "Inside Riot", together with 3 older men. Inside Riot recorded the first demo in Malmö 1999. Then we met Bobby Gillespie, and he told Alan McGee, boss for english recordcompany Poptones, that we were delicious. Then Poptones promised us a record-deal, but soon they regret, when they found out we never rehearse. Instead we moved to Berlin to rehearse. In Berlin we played many conserts, and met soundengeneer-student Balz. Balz recorded many of the Inside Riot songs you can hear on "1999-2002". Inside Riot split up after we left Berlin. To many members, hard to agree. But because Frida and Anna agree good, The Rough Bunnies was born! Since then we`ve also recorded a cd in the name of The Flame. The Flame is a collaboration between Rough bunnies, a boy called AOMBG and a girl called Lesbo Pig.
Our favourite hobby is The Rough Bunnies. For us, recording songs and playing live, is fun, serious and constructive. The fact that we expose the songs on the internet, cd`s and conserts, we have created fans. And sometimes I`m worried that those fans will get sad when listening to our songs. Because sometimes the lyrics sound destructive. But we are not. We want to have constructive plans for life, and love to live, but sometimes life contains impressions that is too much to swallow, then it is fantastic to write a song about it. And it`s very fun to play conserts, doing a show. We`ve always been interested in Circus.
