Round 13 Records is based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota and was formed in 2005 by members of the band TONNAGE. Round 13 Records describes itself as a collective – not a label. It does this to underscore exactly how it differs from a traditional label. Bands don’t “sign” with Round 13 Records, nor does the label demand an exclusive commitment from them. What Round 13 Records requires from their artists is simply a passion for music and the willingness to work to promote both themselves as well as the rest of the Round 13 family - the bands are what make Round 13 work.
Round 13's roster has included Midwest bands Tonnage, 20 Dollar Love, The Ugly Fat Kids, The Dunwich Whores, The Skullcranes, Poney, The Summer People, Six Six Crush, Sick Machine, Droids Attack, Sturgeon Valley Nights, Helliphant, Bloodcow and Imperial Battlesnake. Some of these bands have moved on but the core group remains the same.

Urgent, Wanted, bands for label consideration. There are one of two groups being considered for this special offer. So let me know if you belong to group one or group two.
Group One: Must have female lead vocalist. Must be blonde. No fatties. Must be good at giving head and fucking record execs for favors. If you are hot and dress like we tell you to, we might consider inflating your ego and making you break from your band in order to push you into a solo career but remember "must be good at head" Must have two guitar players. Gender is not important since we will probably fire you anyway and replace you with session musicians that are better players and more photogenic than you. All members must be good at doing what we tell them to. Please no complainers especially if it includes you talking about "your art" or "your vision" because we all know that doesnt matter when it comes to writing songs that make good ringtones.
Group Two: Must have male lead vocalist who is good at dressing himself up pretty and acting like a pussy. Typical fashion from magazines like Alternative Press or Rock Sound a must. We love lots of tattoos and primpy haircuts. Must be good at giving head and fucking record execs for favors. If you are hot enough and do what we say, we will make you the next Richard Marks. Guitar players must be pretentious and have been into Limp Bizkit and Korn at one time but would never admit it now that they listen to the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs or Cursive. Once again we must stress that really cool hair is a must and radical head giving abilities is primo. -------- We dont have time to fuck around and get back to you if you suck. If you drink or do drugs please dont apply but if you act like you do or say you do in magazine interviews to seem cooler, that is OK. Once again good head is important. We will demand video
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
