Formed out of the unlikely ashes of what was Oxford's only (and by definition - favourite) Electro Rock outfit, Cargo Cult, The Roundheels came about as the result of all three of us, having gone our divergent ways coming home and finding that, quite separately, we had developed a love of folksy, bluesy, countryfied, bluegrassy music. Perhaps it's the rolling Oxfordshire countryside that has led us to this pass or perhaps it is a respite for our battered hearing from the pounding bass and raucous guitars of Cargo Cult. Who can say and who cares. We've been gigging when and where we can for the last year and a half and we're constantly knocking new songs into shape, concentrating on writing a set of our own songs but still sliding in the occasional standard or cover version of songs we discover and fall in love with along the way. We've recently recorded an EP's worth of demo tunes at Truck Studios with the very talented Mr. Rowland Prytherch (The Epstein) at the helm and we have now posted these on the page - up there, look, in the top right hand corner - Big love to Quen for some sublime pedal steel on 'Siren Song' and for bringing the toilet roll and huge thanks and gropes to Mr. Prytherch for steering the ship with skill and panache, not to mention the lovely Mandolin on 'No One Can Tell You', all the bass parts and the backing vox and metal clunks arrangement on 'The Ballad of Phineas Gage'. Give us a listen innit! Cheers. The Roundheels.
Come and join us... either for one or both!! TWO great shows - 2.00pm in The Unicorn Theatre Fantastic tiny historical theatre with lorry-loads of atmosphere! Great opportunity to see top bands in a unique setting. 7.00pm in The Stocks Bar, Abingdon The whole Ratpack gang go bigger, bolder and louder!! Brilliant day of music..
Thank YOU, Roundheels. We absolutely loved it. We had a brilliant night and we'd love to have you back soon. Altogether superb. Thanks loads and see you all soon. xx
I've recently found myself rather taken with your sounds. Very much so.
So very, very cruisy, it seems you three write the best of whatever genre in which you care to endeavour. Keep it up. Then...
Come to Australia and play at the Tamworth Country music festival! HAH!
:P
Sharyn, I miss you! ♥
OH! ... You can all give the new Vitus track a listen if you like too. Set Me Free (Soon be re-named, and revised, again... but still. LISTEN NONE THE LESS)
lol - funny stuff. Didn't have too many photos of you though Nick 'cos the lighting was a lot darker at your end of the stage. :( Next time though, eh...
What Ho, fellows. When in the name of all that is holy are you going to make some new songs appear upon your page. This is the age of choice after all, is it not? So step to it, you blithering blatherskites.
Hey guys! So I have finally sorted out the shots that I took of you at The Cellar gig on 10th May. Apologies for the delay. Have sent them to Sharyn's email. Please let me know what you think!!
Looking forward to the gig in July!

(Nick, I think that you did hide your messages in the deep dark recesses of my account 'cos it took me bloody ages to find them last time.)
Why thank you my dear...great to meet you too!! Great music, great show - loved the way that you interacted with the audience too!
Got a couple of pics that am gonna send you but waiting on a friend to give me a copy of photoshop (passing over to the dark side) so that I can tweak one of them.
Ill keep in touch anyways, and let me know when your next gig is and Ill come along with the trusty camera :)
