Rowan Lipkovits, believe it or not, is the full name of one Rowan Lipkovits.
In addition to playing demented covers solo, he turns up on a regular basis in the Joey Only Outlaw Band, the Creaking Planks, and Trev's Good Rockin' Tonight. (Less often, with Peppersprey, Queso Moldeo, and now Gunshae.) Furthermore, he hosts the monthly "57 Varieties" open stage (3rd Tuesday of every month at Spartacus Books) and co-hosts the Accordion Noir all-accordion radio show 9:30-10:30 pm every Friday night and its live spin-off, the monthly Main Squeeze accordion circle.

Following fifteen years of piano lessons and a stint in the poetry trenches, Rowan decided to teach himself the accordion by trying every damn thing that came into his head.

Don't sweat New Years. The Planx gig is important to this town, to you and even to me. I think it's great to have so many players in the Outlaw Band busy with other bands. We really have an allstar lineup in that sense and it's gonna mean sometimes we can't do everything. Jeff is working on Corwin to play bass for New Years, rumour is he wanted to be there anyway. It would certainly add to the allstar lineup we have.

Great playing last night. I wanna play with you more. I noticed when listening to the new Outlaw recordings today and listening to all the ways you are carrying the melody now that you are more active on the keys. f you know of house shows and stuff where you and I could do the duo again I'd love that.
