About me: Full name Ian Rowland, I've been known as 'Rowly' pretty much since my school days! Been into the mod/soul/scooter scenes in one way shape or form for most of my life since first getting into mod at the time of the 1979 revival (aged 15). Started djing regularly on the Mod Scene & also the Northern Soul Scene about 5 years ago, mainly in the London clubs, but also in places such as Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Portsmouth, Ryde (IOW Scooter Rally). Highlights this year were djing in the "Back Beat" Room at the Middleton allnighter in May & in the R&B room at the Cleethorpes Northern Soul Weekender in June. Married to Annie since 1989 got a 16yr old lad Billy (named after Bonzo!) and a 10yr old lass Charlie. Been a Hammer since the 1975 Cup final win over Fulham, first time to Upton Park was a Tuesday night game in 1980 - a 1-0 win over Cardiff City in the old 2nd Division. Had a season ticket in the Chicken Run from 87 till the seats were put in at the end of 94, when I went over to the Bobby Moore Lower. I gave it up in '98 because Football just doesn't have the same passion, fervour or atmosphere in all seater stadiums. It's become too sanitised - BRING BACK THE TERRACES!! Also gave it up due to family & other interests.... Namely developing a severe vinyl habit, and building my collection of rare 60's Soul & R&B records, and getting my 1969 Lambretta SX200 back on the road.
