About me:
I'm a graduate of Flynn Park Elementary School.
The blog is mainly about the Tell It Slant poetry book group (formerly affiliated with the late Hungry Mind / Ruminator bookstore). We meet once a month at a St. Paul coffee shop to discuss a book of poetry...we range from Sappho and Dante to Matthea Harvey and Tony Hoagland. Drop me a line if you're interested in attending a session.
Who I'd like to meet: Molly Ivins, Clodia Metelli, James Joyce, Babe Ruth, Shakespeare, John Lennon
im not quite sure where we are at really. things are just all over the place right now. we are going to be featured in Alternative Press magazine. The July issue, which comes out June 10th of 2008. We are in their unsigned bands of the month column. But other than that nothing new really. hoping for some direction. I am anyways.
The List has now become The Beast. I tend to make things more difficult than they actually should be. It keeps growing, and growing, and growing. And, of course, it will now be anticlimactic when you actually receive The List. Argh!
Eat, Pray, Love is interesting. The voice carries the book, I think. I am glad it was given to me, b/c I never would have bought it on my own!
Aloha! I have been a very bad MySpace friend, as I haven't typed up list yet. This will be done this weekend!
Your mentioning of Italian is quite interesting... I'm reading a book a friend gave me, Eat, Pray, Love, at present, and the author took Italian as well.
The "Luka" guy is quite fabulous -- he's from the Czech Republic, and I think he's for real.
HA! I am glad someone caught on to my midnight masquerades alone adding people. i figure if they are from that country, they hopefully might like us.
However, a lot of their pages feature songs by Rascal Flatts, Fergie, and Lil Wayne. Which isn't exactly showing a good taste of musicianship. But who am I kidding, not many people actually listen intently to anything.
I am most honored to be the first friend you do not know. Ha ha!
I'd have to say that -- in my book, at least -- Leonard Cohen songs about Leonard Cohen do not count. If only Shane MacGowan had written a song about poets. I'm mentally going through every lyric in my head right now -- which is a tad difficult to do, being as I haven't had any coffee yet.
Hey Roy! It will be Kelsey, Jeff, and I playing. We dont have a drummer yet. It gets mildly depressing from time to time. Its the only thing holding us back from actually playing shows all the time.
