Hailing from Long Island, NY, Royal City Riot is here to redefine your definition of reggae. While keeping true to the roots of the Jamaican music and combining it with influences of American Soul and R&B, Royal City Riot's sound is original yet authentic. Their self-proclaimed "Good-Time Party Music" will have you on your feet dancing in no time.
Despite only being together for about 2 years, Royal City Riot has enjoyed support from a loyal fan base, and also shared the stage with such national acts as The Aggrolites, The Slackers, The English Beat, The Toasters, Bad Manners, The Pietasters, Streetlight Manifesto, Bedouin Soundclash, Big D and the Kids Table, Mustard Plug, and Westbound Train. They have also been a part of the Ska Weekend Festival '07 and '08 in Knoxville, TN and completed two U.S. tours in support of their debut album "Whatever You Please".
Royal City Riot is currently hard at work on their second album, which is slated to hit stores in fall of '09 on Megalith Records. So fill your glass up and get your dancing shoes on, The Riot is just getting started.

So i was watching the new video and looking and listening and im like this sounds soooo weiirdd what is that other sound? like is Vito wayyy off on the drums or something, and then i realized your player was playing a song at the same time your video was on.....fear not...when i turned off the player, the video all by itself sounded great hahaha but i was like wtf is going on?!
You guys have NO idea how much I really want to go to this...not just as a RCR fan, but also a huge seafood lover. The ONE THING thats going to stop me from doing it is that I have an 8 hour state licensing exam that STARTS at 7am that next morning. If i pass that test, I will be able to take the job thats waiting for me....that will make me around 90 bucks an hr!!! For once, something else trumps ska. I know you've guys have heard me whine and cry about missing your sets at the NYC KF shows and I'm working on making it up to you guys. Sadly, this won't be one of them. :( I will see you at one of the others one soon, I promise!
