Royal Oil started playing in 2008 in Stavanger, Norway. They are a metal band which consists of four members. The members are Jone Larsen (Drums), Sebastian Kashani (Lead guitar/ backing vocals), Sjur Aarthun (bass) and Magnus Bokn (Lead vocals and rhythm guitar). All members have stagenames wich are Stribå (Magnus), Bassi (Sebastian), Bulldog (Sjur) and Knekken (Jone). They wear these names because it gives the band a darker look. .. .. In 2008 only Jone and Sebastian played together, but after some time the two guys found out they wanted to expand their musicial journey. They found Sjur! As a three piece,they got together and found out they wanted a lead singer and by sheer coincidence they met Magnus at a computer gathering. They were finally a band! They played a couple of months and got better and better, but they felt something was missing. A name! .. .. So, the members got together and had a little brainstorming session. They wanted a name that could tell people were they where originate, so Sebastian came up with “Royal Oil”, and the others loved it! It told people were they were from AND it was an exceptionally cool name. But that was not enough. They needed an image. And there it was, coveralls! .... They started covering songs by famous artists, but wanted their own music, so they started making their own song. And after a couple of weeks “No Matter” was completed. .... Lately they have been in studio and recorded their own Demo called “Devil Queen”, and they are of course hoping that some day they will be signed by a record label.
