Heavy metal, hard rock, or something played with a heavy hand and attitude...? Well, you don't need to try to put this band into any of those categories, because this shit makes you sweat anyway. Nothing but the music itself - the songs, the style and the adult (?) sense of humour is important. These gentlemen want to do it the right way and when they climb this tree, the ass is usually not going in first. Royal Truck was born in the summer of 2001 to satisfy the burning need and desire to write and to play music... you know that feeling, the one that doesn't go away but gets stronger year after year. These guys are closer to James Hetfield's than Justin Timberlake's age, so playing music has been a big part of their lives since the early 1980's. Each member obviously has a past of his own with gigs and other bands. When it comes to describing the music, it is up to you, dear listener to do it. The influences behind the members are ranging from old kings like Deep Purple and Rainbow to Thin Lizzy and Mot'rhead and the latest growlers such as Pantera and Zakk Wylde. The first demo, recorded in July 2003, received positive feedback through the line and it was accompanied by the next one, which was recorded in June 2004. Royal Truck's crew went through changes in the beginning of the year 2005. New drummer Timo stepped in, and soon a genuine heavy metal legend from Oulu, JJ Hjelt, joined the group as a bass guitarist. Royal Truck's first recording with the current line-up was released in 2006: The Feast of the Damned. Several years went by playing gigs and drinking low viscosity motor oil. Standards were set high (?) and the band wrote four new songs for the 2010 released "Christmas" EP. The story goes on... Cheers!
