ROYMACKONKEY - alternative/rock band from Darwin Australia. John Coulehan, Darryl Barba, Brian Mcleod and Steven Smith formed roymackonkey late 1997 primarily as a heavy/rock band and within the first year the boys being ambitious teamed up with then Triple J producer Chris Thompson and local engineer Mat Cunliffe to record their first EP "The Quality of Meat", with Triple J's support the band recieved regular national airplay to which gave them the opportunity to support every major act that toured through Darwin. "MAKE THE CHEQUE OUT TO ROYMACKONKEY AND FEED THE TOWN FOR A WEEK" H.Rollins 2000. Of all the support shows the boys landed playing with The Rollins Band 25th April 2000 is definitley a highlight and a great consolation to losing the support slot for Fugazi due to a bout of appendicitis! most recently playing to a 5000 strong crowd of V8 supercar fans alongside of Wolfmother ;) "Cassandra Never Lies" is the second release by the band featuring Fletcher Bowman (Plonker, Take The Helm) on drums, recorded january 08 at Damien Gerard Studios Sydney and the band have also released the song "The Fear" as a single which featured on Foghorn Records compilation disc Grow Your Own Upload volume 12. After releasing "Cassandra Never Lies" and extensive touring to promote the EP the band is now focusing on a full length album with pre production starting mid year 09 also expect to see a live dvd of a previous "unplugged" concert from the Monsoon Sessions featuring acoustic versions of older classic's and new songs.
