GUITAR STYLE is fast high speed licks within a synchopated rythm vein with lightning fast run's to finish lead section's.

Songwriting.....
Personaly Guitar is my inspiration, I love the feel of scales & phrazes & how the string positions & string guages give each chord a voice & the personal feel that your fingering style gives that is unique & recognisable regardless of electronics.
Once I have a guitar piece that realy gives me satisfaction & I have solidified the timing accents I transfer those accents to the drum track.
Being a Heavy Metal Musician my lyrics have to shock & normaly are accented vocaly like another guitar.
Avoiding long explanations is good & when you have something to communicate summerising it is worth while, or finding words that are a bit more substantial helps too.
I vocalise like I play Lead Guitar & thats my secret, you could work it out but then you would know anyway, hope this is helpfullin some way, getting a structured system is realy helpfull & gives a recognisable style.

Influences are, bands like The Scorpions, Ratt, Motley Crue, Queensreich, U.F.O, ACDC, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, to name a few band's, there are also influence's from band's like Slip Knot, Anthrax, Nine Inch Nail's, The Fu Fighter's & even The Red Hot Chilli Pepper's are
un-ignorable as are Motorhead & Hawkwind.
If you haven't some influences from Rock & Metal, Thrash, Death Metal & even Pop Rock like Jefferson Aeroplane, Boston & The Eagles your probably not informed enough to be playing Rock anyway!

THE GIGS
Having recently split with Conquest, due to varying levels of commitment within the Band, Roy Stone is now Guitar & Vocals again, gigging a set of the solo material, to a backing recording, plus some of the wild lead guitar that is the Roy Stone trade mark. The idea being to build a band from the live platform whilst being out there playing live.
This means re-recording some the best earlier tracks, to get the material to make a backing recording, The Beast Rising & Satan, which interconnect live are definitely on the list for a re-vamp, as is The Reaper, Night Train To Nowhere, Chill Of The Night & Arabian Knights to mention a few,this will get the live set up to around an hour, with the advantage of some shiny new CD’s too!

As VOCALIST & Lead guitarist, ROY STONE sings a powerfull Rock vocal style whilst playing Rythm Guitar that is sometimes 16 time's the beat of the music, punctuated with lead guitar runs that descend into musical changes & lead guitar breaks with howling long notes & runs so fast you'l miss it if your not concentrating!
Originaly a child Accordion player & always consistently playing, Roy Stone plays guitar at least an hour everyday. 3 BC Rich Guitars, which is the sound Roy favours, an ’87 Ibanez for Pop-Rock & the obligatory battered Strat, which is not a high quality instrument. Also a BC Rich active Bass.
Rock Guitarist & Vocalist, Roy can write quality Rock songs in an hour & record them himself in 3 days, Roy has written & recorded around 200 songs in various levels of recording quality. Also Vocalist & Accoustic style chord player, Roy can ad-lib lead guitar to cd quality over any chord sequence & have book’s of thousand’s of chord’s available, also a competent Bassist & a backing competent Keyboard player, though not an avid Pianist.
Many gigs this year, with a growing live set & much more material is in need of re-recording, so regular Album releases as well too!
The recording is all done on a Spirit 328 Desk to a Fostex D-16, Guitars through Boss GT units, with the Bass through Line 6, the Desk has 2 Lexicons & 2 dynamics processors, which are set up as compressor gate & limiter, the mix is a stereo bass, panned to about 3 L&R, a central vocal, stereo guitars panned to 8-15 L&R, the drums are a 7 condenser mic. recording, 2 Kick, Snare stereo tomtoms & stereo overheads, then I repeat the mix & feed it analogue at low level panned 1 outside the digital mix to loose the Pop sound & give it a bit of live feel, then it is fed via spdf to a DBX Auto compressor where it is compressed & limited again, with the addition of a dark Side-chain EQ, a gain setting below speaker distortion, dither & another gate.
Roy can also work by post, sending additional tracks un-EQ’d on CD’s & also
set up small live performances, with the equipment he is familiar with. Playing Gig’s on a regular basis with Conquest, which has a Vocalist frontman but Roy is also setting up a Band presently for the solo material, on which he sings, also doing Lead Guitar solo spot’s between Bands at Rock Gigs. Roy Stone is available for all of these. Available for professional Rock Bands & recording work.
