Influences
ROY STONE,
Vocal Stile is powerfull yet melodic, the influence is obviously main stream commercial metal with a bit of speed metal & a few power ballads thrown in.
GUITAR STYLE is fast high speed licks in a synchopated vein with lightning fast run's to finish lead section's, making ROY STONE Possibly The Fastest Lead Guitar In The World!
The Guitar sound is a work of art in itself! a digital layered basis with some extroadinary external effect's giving an individual twist to each note & phraze, it can be heard in developement through the earlier ROY STONE Track's up to the most recent CONQUEST Track's, which feature the finished article.
Having played in all genre's of Rock & Metal Band's, any stile from Led Zeppelin to Eric Clapton to Motley Crue, Status Quo right through to Anthrax, Slayer or AC/DC is within Roy Stone's repatoire.

Influence's are, band's like The Scorpion's, Ratt, Motley Crue, Queensreich, U.F.O, ACDC, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, to name a few band's, there are also influence's from band's like Slip Knot, Anthrax, Nine Inch Nail's, The Fu Fighter's & even The Red Hot Chilli Pepper's are
un-ignorable as are Motorhead & Hawkwind.
If you haven't some influence's from Rock & Metal, Thrash, Death Metal & even Pop Rock like Jefferson Aeroplane, Boston & The Eagle's your probably not informed enough to be playing Rock anyway!

CONQUEST came to be through ROY STONE’s publicity campaign at the ROCK MATRIX Heavy Metal night’s in South East London. Showing up week after week promoting the ROY STONE SOLO project, meant regularly running into LES CLAYDEN ,a great character & long term contributer to the Rock Scene & fine Rock & Metal Guitar player too & KEVIN EARDLEY a superb Vocalist, with fantastic range & tonal quality & great technical knowledge as well.
At the time the only thing going on was ROY STONE’s solo Lead Guitar Slot’s for the ROCK MATRIX at which LES CLAYDEN & KEVIN EARDLEY were regularly in attendance, although KEVIN EARDLEY had sung JUMP by VAN HALEN rather well as a demonstration & many conversation’s regarding technical set up’s, tuning & style were regular, the idea of a band had not been realisticly considered .
Then LES started to do LES CLAYDEN Solo Guitar Slot’s, at which ROY STONE & KEVIN EARDLEY were regular attender’s & following discussion’s soon lead to the idea of forming a serious band.
Next to appear on the scene was KEITH BARNES, a DRUMMER of some considerable experience, well known to band’s on the same circuit. The band started off by writing CRESENT MOON, SETTING SUN & DANGEROUS CITY, at rehearsal/writing session’s at ROY STONE’s back room studio, all on headphone’s, with KEITH BARNES in attendance & LES CLAYDEN sorting out a new hi tech piece of direct guitar equipment for a compatable sound, a few week’s later KEVIN EARDLEY showed up with a marvellous Electronic Drum Kit, there is not the space or the tolerance from the local area to consider recording live drum’s, so now the band took on a much more serious tone, able to play live at CD Quality on headphones.
The other original track’s are new demo’s made since & the band have OVER A HUNDRED DEMO’S at there disposal for future track’s.
It was now time to move to a more live environment, so the band with no name at the time, moved the session’s to a rehearsal room & after a few problem’s with style & equipment set up’s in the live situation, got down to seriously working on the live show aspect & are still honing the track’s for a final format for recording. After many scribbled bit’s of paper & much head scratching, the name CONQUEST was finaly agreed on for the band.
Finding a Bassist proved to be difficult but after many ad's & several dissapointment's ADAM EVANS became the Bassist for CONQUEST, a contact from LONDON ROCK MATRIX night's at the RAT & PARROT & the ZERO BAR & a cool musician, with a collection of fine Bass's, excellent timing & a superb Rock & Metal Bass sound.
Incidently, if your looking for a ROCK NIGHT OUT in South LONDON, the ROCK MATRIX Rock Club Night has now moved to THE JOLLY DRAYMAN Bexleyheath DA6 & the LIVE BAND VENUE has also moved there too!
The Band take the music very seriously but work with a humorous light hearted atmosphere, with many cheap corny pun’s & are all polite friendly Guy’s, who enjoy Rock & Metal night's out & have great enthusiasm for all live & recorded music generaly.
CONQUEST are now performing a set of Original Track's written by the band & gigging regularly at Rock & Metal Venue's across the UK.

The ROY STONE material feature's IBANEZ & for the heavier material with CONQUEST there are also several B.C. RICH Guitar's, a red BEAST, a black IRONBIRD, a blue WARLOCK & a mighty red WARLOCK longscale Bass are among the collection of instrument's, also a sunburst FENDER STRATOCASTER the icon of all Rock instrument's & a Workstation keyboard by KORG.
All this is situated within a compact Digital Studio, along with Live Amp's, a P.A. System, Rack Compressor's & Effect's Processor's, in a back room in SOUTH LONDON
