“We do it because of passion, by ourselves, for ourselves...”
Those were the words stated by the members of Swedish Groove metal/Thrash act ROZENHILL, when presented with the question “what keeps you playing and writing your music?”
The truth is that this band didn’t start off as a serious band,
-We didn’t spam online metal forums just to spread the word about us, and we didn’t have to change anything in our songs in order to attract more listeners, because we never actually cared about what others think.
The band just let themselves expand more and more, and in the long run, expand from nothing to something.
-When we first started out as ROZENHILL we had this crappy rehearsal place with worn out equipment, and we were rehearsing once a week, sometimes even less.
When the groups first demo (Oh’ Seven - 2007) was released, they received some great reactions.
-People actually wanted to listen to something that came from us.
The “Oh’ Seven” demo spread quickly all over the world. People started sending the band various requests/messages via MySpace, and metal radios took notice of the band.
The will to be something bigger grew stronger within us.
The band started by writing a new set of songs, songs that were stronger than the last ones. Furthermore the band got a new rehearsal room, the line-up was changed and ROZENHILL started spreading the word about themselves.
Around that time, ROZENHILL were contacted by NOISEHEAD RECORDS with a great proposition.
-We knew this would take the band to the next level, it was time to set the standard for how serious the band actually was. That took a lot of patience, lots of discussion, and a lot of angry times.
The band decided to agree on the offer and entered NOISEHEAD STUDIOS in order to record their debut album. The album, entitled KING WITHOUT A DOMAIN was released in April 2009.
King Without Domain is the debut of Swedish fresh and upcoming groove metal band ROZENHILL. The masterpiece includes ten tracks mixed with groovy riffing, fast drumming, aggressive screams, clean vocals inspired by the gothic scene and of course a touch of original Swedish melodies.
The album was recorded late 2008 in Noisehead Studios - Austria, with Mr. Mario Jezik (Demolition, Darkside, Trashcanned, etc.) as producer. The album is loaded with heavy and fast songs like "Broken" and ballads like "King Without Domain" and it will definitely not leave listeners unaffected.
