Hi there. My name's Ryan. I make weird cartoon art. My work is sorta like if Salvador Dali inseminated Dr. Seuss and the embryo was subsequently implanted into Andy Warhol's womb. Once birthed, this supernatural post-fetal art being was placed in the foster care of Robert Crumb and M.C. Escher, only to grow up on a steady diet of cartoons, badger milk, and soft-core pornography...that pretty much sums it up.

I sign my work with "R. Thies" because, when pronounced correctly (ar-teace), it sounds like artiste. Pretty clever, huh?
If you would like to see more, feel free to peruse my website. There you will also find my raunchier images...the kind of stuff that MySpace would delete:
I do this slapstick performance art music type thing called Stubberfoam; basically I frolic around in public, playing a hand-painted acoustic guitar with big foam hands. It's um, pretty obnoxious? Yeah.
I put out a mini art zine four times a year called Thought Nog. It's quite tasty, and you can order a copy on Etsy.

"Very Escher-esque acid/dreamy sort of stuff - odd, but strangely cool and compelling!"

Cool folks, musicians, and other artists..particularly the kind that prefer solidarity over elitist competitiveness. It's art, not sports. Take the shoulder pads off.
Dude I'm totally in if I can be the bad boy rebel.
Do you find it disturbing that they kept flashing to the 2 year old in the audience? More to the point is it disturbing that I watch enough of that video to notice that they kept flashing to the 2 year old in the audience?

Hey Ryan! Thanks so much for a good laugh last night with your animation. Believe it or not, I was really inspired to get home and get to harder work on my own art projects! :D
