Things have changed since ruacutane’s birth in 2003 from the meeting of jérémie (voice and guitar), xavier (keys and programming) and sandra (voice) and since renaud and nicholas have joined the band on drums and double bass…
The first cries of their music, atmospheric pop with accents of electro, were promising with sandra and jérémie’s voices on top.
Since this savvy mixture of influences ranging from Grandaddy, Yo la tengo to The Notwist, ruacutane matured with the help of a Demopoll win on StuBru, a first EP out on Cartepostalerecords, several opening acts like for Jarvis Cocker at Ancienne Belgique and for The Veils in Le Botanique, and concerts on the off-stages at Verdur Rock in Namur or at Francofolies de Spa.
The band’s first full album “Cancel key” is released on September 15th 2009. The recordings have been done by Julien Paschal who has already revealed himself on recordings for Soy Un Caballo, Raymondo, Ghinzu, Minérale, etc and the mix was done by Christine Verschorren, Ghinzu, Moondog Jr,…
The "Sittin' on the dock of the bay" cover by ruacutane is featured on "Paris dernière volume 7" by Béatrice Ardisson.

Yo ruacutaneasaurus. I just found out that we're related...and as a special family only present we've made a new song for you called "End of Days" (start doing backflips now). It's an epic instrumental opus to the moment when our ancient Dino relatives saw a large fiery object plummeting towards them.
