Ruaste on perustettu 1995. Bändiltä tuli kaksi demoa vuosina -96 ja -97. Vuonna 2005 bändi päätti äänittää vanhta demobiisit uudestaan ja niin myös tehtiin. 2006 Ruaste julkaisi Talvi-ep:n ja Elämää-ep:n. Talvi-ep sisälsi kolme ihan uutta rallia ja Elämää-ep:llä on pari uutta ja pari vanhempaa biisiä uudelleen sovitettuina.
