Sounds Like
The louder the better. It's much better louder when your ears start to come loose and things start falling off the wall and a chainsaw sound like a purring kitten.
Ruby In The Dust aka The Michael E. Thomas Band, is a 3 piece rock band based in Northern Ireland and New Jersey. It features Michael E. Thomas on guitar and vocals with Robert Cardwell-on drums and Michael Maitland on bass. The latest cd "Wreckless Abandon" is available at cdbaby.com. The band plays it's own original songs from their last 4 albums along with covers by Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd as well as the legendary Tommy Bolin.
We're available as a Rock/Pop cover band/original/solo acoustic show. Just drop us a line.
9pm Sundays we are at the Imperial Bar in Ballymoney. We do originals as well as a complete Beatles Tribute, Jimi Hendrix/Robin Trower/Stevie Ray Vaughn Tribute, as well as Led Zeppelin/Deep Purple. Many more special nights are in the works.
10pm Thursdays I'm at the Atlantic Bar in Portrush with an acoustic set playing everything from 50's songs to current tunes.
Hope to see you there. Thanks!
Hi Michael, just dropping by to say thanx for coming over on Friday nite. Sorry we didn't have more time to chat, gig nights are always a bit hectic until I get the door closed and then I always want to watch the band/musician! Thought Dan was fantastic again, hope you enjoyed the show.
Keep in touch and we'll try to get something organised to come down and see you guys soon.
Firstly, thanks for having us a friend! We really do appreciate it, it's a hard slog being an original band at the moment.
Secondly, do you, or anyone you know, like to play bass? And do you, or this person who you know who plays bass want to play bass in a gigging rock band?
The Hubris are recruiting. Mark is hanging up his plucking pinkies at the end of the year and we need to find someone who can do what he can do.
We're after a bassist who likes his/her rock music. We've been compared to loads of punk bands, old and modern. John from Bruised Fruit described our recent demo thusly: "This is class - really catchy. It's like the Jam meet Green Day meet The Clash and it's a three way explosion of awesome." (Thanks John - hope you don't mind us quoting that to death!)
What we're after is someone who's, well, who's good at playing bass really. Have good attitude, be willing to practise up to twice a week, and tear up every gig we get our mitts on. Ideally the ability to backing sing would be good. Songwriting optional.
We've played quite a few gigs since we started gigging in July, and we have more gigs booked into the future. As soon as we get someone on board we have the opportunity of a load more very soon. We were played on Feile FM a couple of weeks ago, listeners texted in and asked for an encore.
Loads of scope for you to take a songwriting role if you fancy, plus we're a very easygoing bunch of people who have a good laugh as well as work hard.
If you like rock music and you want to be in a real rock band then contact me.
Thanks for friendship! Don't forget that you can get my music for free and I still will get paid! Gimmesound.com pays artists for every download out of their ad revenue. By grabbing my tracks for free - you support me! We both gain!

Strange day. After watching a documentary about streakers suffering from over exposure, I took a nap. It was a short one. I woke up a midget. At first I was freaking out, jumping around, trying to reach the wall phone. It tired me out. So I sat on a foot stool and placed my face in my hands wondering why this had happened to me. In the middle of self-pitying I started noticing how much fun it was to kick and swing my feet. I was smiling again, and found myself running through the house at full speed... wrestling with my now giant puppy. Oh, the joy! I hadn't had so much fun in years! We laughed and played and laughed until we both fell asleep exhausted on the living room floor. Then I woke up and ruined the whole damned thing.
