Guitarist Clay Ross and Vocalist Krystle Warren are RUBY ROSA. Based out of NYC and set on making emotionally intoxicating music, they draw from a repertoire of originals, classic standards, and modern songs. Named for the original international playboy, Dominican Diplomat Porfirio Rubirosa, they make music to invite you in, dance with you, and kiss you goodnight. Come let their sensual sounds transport you to an intimate café on the lower east side of Manhattan.
Clay Ross was recently selected by the U.S. State Department and Jazz at Lincoln Center as a U.S. Jazz Ambassador. Under this title, he has toured throughout Turkey, Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, and to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. Ross graduated from the University of Charleston in 1998 with a degree in classical composition and has been featured at Universities around the world as a guest artist and clinician. Now living in New York, he has honed his skills through hundreds of performances with the citys most amazing young talents. In 2005, Ross released his debut album, "The Random Puller," documenting nine original compositions with his quartet. He also recorded guitar parts for Outkast on their upcoming feature film Idlewild(Universal) and is a member of Cyro Baptistas Beat the Donkey.
Krystle Warren is a captivating study in the art of simplicity. Belting out the Beatles or crooning Billie Holiday, Warren's voice can switch from a whisper to a shout in a single passionate moment. Some mistake her for a neo-folkie caricature, but look past the surface and you'll find that Warrens talent is much too big for such labels. Originally from Kansas City, MO she now resides in NYC and is finishing up her debut album at Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan.

That was a great show at GrassRoots. Just seeing the intensity and emotion you two showed on stage was more than moving. I gave my sister the cd and she is hooked now. I look foreward to seeing you play again sometime!
