Rudy's musical background spans almost every genre. He has extensive classical and jazz piano training as well as experience singing Classical, R&B, Gospel, Hip Hop, Soul, and Pop music. All of these styles mixed with his own creative expression make his live performance a rare jewel that you don't want to miss! He is often compared to the greats like Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Sam Cooke, but he also blends beautifully with the music of his contemporaries like Alicia Keys, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Ludacris and Kanya West. This singer-songwriter, musician, producer’s writing credits are also impressive. Rudy was honored as one of the recipients of the ASCAP writer’s award. He received this award in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Rudy has written songs for multi-platinum recording artist Mya, and had a song featured in the blockbuster hit movie “The Bourne Identity” starring Matt Damon. Rudy also wrote and arranged “Let’s Play House” which was the third single for national recording artist Ray J on his recent CD "Raydiation”. Through Mike Chek Entertainment, Rudy released 2 full length CDs independently. His debut CD titled “More Than You’ll Ever Know” was followed by the release of his sophomore effort, “Here With You.” Both projects have received critical acclaim and an overwhelming response publicly. Songs from Rudy’s first CD have played in Old Navy and other major retailers nationwide. "Weave Ponytail" from his second project was an instant radio hit and continues to be highly requested in several major markets.
