| About Rudy Tee y Sus Reno Bops |
By the age of thirteen, Rudy Tee Gonzales (Rodolfo Treviño Gonzales) was playing with his brother Manual “Red” Gonzales in Conjunto Los Panchitos. At fifteen, influenced by the Rhythm and Blues music of the 50s, Rudy and Red formed Rudy Tee and the Reno Bops. Always true to his Mexican-American roots, Rudy started recording Spanish as well as English hits. Some of his first hits included: Un Ratito, La Palma, El Tejano Enamorado, Sufres Porque Quieres, Together Again, Mandame Tu Cariño, and All I Could Do Was Cry. Rudy Tee and the Reno Bops spent the greater part of the 1960s and 70s on the road performing their well loved tunes throughout the country. During the 1980s and 90s the group settled down to night club gigs, but continued to be a driving force in La Onda Tejana.
Today, Rudy Tee continues to record with his Reno Bops and enjoys playing his Tejano favorites as well as Country, Christian, and Rhythm and Blues Oldies. Rudy Tee currently works with some of the best musicians in San Antonio. Rudy Tee’s showmanship continues to shine through whether he is performing with a large group, in a trio, or as a solo act.
