Sounds Like
Now here's a really complicated and confusing topic! "Who Do We Sound Like?" One woman at one of our shows said," Put Bad Company, The Greatful Dead, and Jethro Tull all in a can, shake it up real well. Now when you pour it out, that's kinda who you sound like." About two months later at another show, one gentleman told us "You guys sound like Quicksilver Messenger Service!". Another gentleman at the same show said "You kinda remind me of Buffalo Springfield." A couple of folks said we reminded them of Dire Straits, while another said that the flute brought to mind The Marshall Tucker Band.A friend of the band said," I'm not sure who you sound like, but you got that raw-edgy-live sound like old classic rock bands back in the 60's & early 70's." Our music is a mixture of classic rock, folk rock & blues. RUF CUT formed in North San Juan,California in the spring of 2006. All their music is original,and while all band members have contributed to their music,most of the lyrics and original melodies were written by Ron Flaherty. They did the recording of "Rocks" at "The Pyramid" in North San Juan,with Jay Tausig as Recording Engineer.
