In the city of Santa Ana, a city credited for its near renaissance-like artistic & musical attributes of the 1950's. The youngest of his siblings, the boy soon to be known as 'Rufi-Yo' lived life in the same fashion as his moniker & namesake as seen in the children's movie 'Hook'. With the souls of rhythm & creativity given by way of a Spanish dad & a Filipino mom, Rufi-Yo sought out to conquer one of the many great forms of art ever seen, felt, heard in our lifetime... Music! Early influences include the likes of Outkast, 2pac, The Neptunes, Prince, Quincy Jones, Kanye West, Timbaland & so many more names to say the least. One of the more popular kids of his class, Rufi-Yo was quite the freestyler in his high school years at Century High in Santa Ana, where he is still a star in the eyes of many students, alumni & faculty! In '05 with the help of some friends, Rufi-Yo produced a group by the name of MSO Mic Stays On composed of fellow members FingahTipz, PizzoMane & PQ. The group managed to put out an independent cd release, "Expect The Unexpected", in early '07 featuring many Rufi-Yo produced beats. With Rufi-Yo already preceding countless performances, opening the gateway to a more balanced & centered appreciation of Orange County hip-hop featuring collaborations with many local acts such as Kaliber, with whom Rufi-Yo produced the feel-good track "Doin' Good" featuring M.S.O. Mic Stays On of which was played in retail stores & outlets nationwide. Rufi-Yo has begun to hustle even harder & produce even more music for local & not-so local acts. His sound has traveled the ears of East Coast natives as well as some International admirers, giving him an assurance that maybe he has what it takes to change the way we all hear & listen to music. Already a local staple in the minds & hearts of countless supporters & followers due to a barrage of showcases headlined by famous acts such as Baby Bash, The Ying Yang Twins, Frankie J, Pitbull, Cashis, Roscoe Umali & a few others. Rufi-yo is also well-known by way of Bogish Brand Management internet-radio show on BeatLoungeRadio.com where they host the likes of many aforementioned artists & many more respected West Coast legends & artists. Into 2010, Rufi-Yo looks forward to broadening his grip on your ears as well as the music industry one beat at a time, one song at a time, one show at a time! IT'S BANGARANG, BITCHES!!!
