Formed within the depths of Red Hook, New York, RUIN burst onto the Metal scene in 2005. The band’s first EP, DEMOlition, was released in May of 2008, but considering the mature growth of the band’s developed sound, RUIN decided to revamp a few of the tracks off the EP, by adding a taste of the Brutality found on the ever- anticipated full length album, which is to be released in 2009. Also, keep an eye out for a teaser EP sometime before January ‘10, which will include upgraded known songs, and some newer face-ripping tracks.
If you’re just finding out about Brutality’s finest, you’ve missed a lot, but there will be much more to witness. Now known locally as one of the best band party-throwers around, RUIN has established their very own annual RUINfest, where fans camp out, feast, party, and rip face in the woods where the band writes and rehearses. Visualize a trapezoid, tri-platform stage, surrounded by many burning barrels and other fire containing devices, a huge fire pit used for grilling and pig roasting, more beer than known what to do with, plus events such as chili cook offs, costume contests and more!
So far in RUIN’s reigning campaign, they have shared the stage with some great local talent, plus some more well known nationals such as TESTAMENT, DAATH, NYLE, DOPE, H20, MERAUDER, SHAT, THE RED CHORD, BIOHAZARD, OVERCAST, BURNING HUMAN, SHAI HULUD, and KINGDOM OF SORROW.
2009's winter East Coast "Tour of Duty" Tour was a blast and can't wait to get back out on the road!!
