ruKus - the sequel is being held on August 24, 2008! Same bat time, same bat venue! Check out our top friends to see who is performing this year!
This year's festival is benefiting the Hattie Larlham Creative Arts Program, which is an extremely unique art and music program providing people with profound disabilities the chance to create art and record music through an advanced system of questioning, choice-making and adaptive technology. Stay tuned for more info on an AMAZING collaborative project between musicians involved in ruKus - the festival, and the participants of the Creative Arts Program!
Just like last year, the will be a wide array of local artists and vendors (if you're one of these, and would like more information on being a part of the ruKus, just drop a line), and a host of new entertainment outlets to fill time between killer independent music! Stay tuned for more updates!!
ruKus - the festival is an independent music and arts festival being held July 28 at Downtown Warren's Amphitheatre (check out our pictures to see it). Celebrating independence in the arts is what it's all about. What is ruKus? It's an idea. A way of life. It's a movement of people rooted in the idea that if we could all, just for a minute, put our differences aside and work together, we can make something happen. We can make anything happen. We can make EVERYTHING happen. It's about pooling the power of our minds, and causing change. Causing... a ruKus. That is ruKus.
This is a FREE show, however, we will be accepting donations on behalf of The Hattie Larlham Foundation, an organization that provides services to individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
If you are an artist/photographer/informative organization/etc from the Warren/Youngstown area, and would like to set up a display of your work, please send us a message and we'll throw you some details.
