Rumi (pronounced Room-ee) Martin was born in Chandler, Arizona. She spent part of her childhood in Saudi Arabia and graduated from High School in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Rumi had been writing songs and poetry since she was 8, and enjoyed participating in every play and musical she could. After graduating high school and serving several years in the military, Rumi ventured off to Anchorage, Alaska and went from working as a medical assistant and aerobics instructor to a respected radio reporter/anchor, morning show co-host and midday on-air talent. During this time, Rumi began writing again and recording her own songs, not realizing that this would be her destiny.
Rumi has shared the stage with Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, Tracy Byrd, Tracy Lawrence, Jon Conlee, Taylor Swift, Neal McCoy, Darius Rucker, and guitarist Bob Saxton of Patsy Cline.
Rumi has signed with Global Music Group and is working on her third album. Rumi is also working on several endorsement deals and is also reviewing movie scripts.
