Bob, Matt, James, Dave and Bobby are the core members of Rum Shebeen- They all met by accident as you do, at a police line up- luckily none of them got the FINGER so afterwards they decided to go for a drink together after a stressful day freaking out in police company.
After all the pubs they tried refused to let them in (for legal reasons we cannot say why) they found an empty shack-like building with a less than secure door.
Inside they found a crate of rum, covered in dust and a record deck, upon which a scratched old record sat, waiting to be played.
Finding some wire and shimmying up a lamp post, power was granted to the building and lo and behold the dancefloor lit up and the glitter ball began spinning. The record played and played and they danced and danced until they passed out (the rum helped).
In the morning they woke up to find themselves in a completely empty room, no dance floor, no record, no rum and no hangover. They all tried in vein to remember the tune that made them dance and drink all night but no-one could get it right.
It then became apparent that they should leave their old lives behind to recreate that perfect melody, that seductive groovy bass line, the tribal beat, that throb of organ and the searing guitar.
That is what they have been doing since and though they haven't found the song that started it all, they sure as hell got a load of their own which are best heard on a sweaty dance floor, live, and in good company.
