The project was born in the late 1988, thanks to Claudio Dondo with the help of Daniele and Paola Magarelli starting from 1993. At the beginning, the music was focused on European industrial ambient (Nocturnal Emissions, Antigroup, Brian Eno), but soon the project explored (testify by tons of demo tapes released) the so called cosmic-music (K. Shulze, Tangerine Dream), going to compose the first album "Winter". The equipment is totally analogic/electronic.
After two other releases of cosmic ambient ("The Land of Silence" and "Odisseum"), Runes Order composed in 1997 the album "Waiting Forever", where there are filmic atmospheres in the vein of "In the Nursery" with a particular and original new wave touch. This album features as vocalist Diego Merzelletto from "Frozen Autumn", a well known Dark Wave band.
In the 2002 "The Art of Scare and Sorrow", released by Beyond Productions. This album combines 70 horror movies atmospheres (Goblin, Frizzi, Simonetti) with 80 Industrial sounds. It has been completely released by Claudio Dondo, together with Tony Tears (already guitarist in the Runes Order side project named Helden Rune, which sees in the line-up also the singer Mercy of Malombra) and with Argento, voice of the Brutal Death Metal band Antropofagus and the black metal band Spite Extreme Wing, both bands always out for Beyond Productions.
