Amanda Rivera

About me:

Well, the name's Amanda, though I've grown accustomed to hearing Miss Amanda (my teacher name :P). I'd like to call myself creative, though not really talented as evident with much of my work. Reading is a passion of mine, and I often like to re-read my fave books to find more of a personal meaning within the text. I'm also a gamer girl and I like video games for any and every console. I actually met my husband while playing a pc game. Lately I've been spending a lot of time playing various games for the Nintendo DS. My loved ones are and will always be the most important aspects of my life, especially my parents, my bros Mel and Jay, my cousins Melanie and Mari, and last but certainly not least, Jose. Finding him was the biggest and best surprise of my life:D Jose and I were actually married on April 19th, 2008! Its amazing how playing an MMO helped me find the one I've been searching for all my life. :*)

As for my career goals, I am currently a graduate of Temple University with a Bachelors of Science in Education for Elementary/Early Childhood Education. I just love working with kids, and I cannot see myself doing anything else but being with kids. Since August 2007 I have been working at an Early Learning Center with children from infants to preschool age. On January 1st, 2008 I assumed the position as a Lead Teacher of older toddlers(2-3 year olds) at the center! It can be stressful at times but it just takes one kid to do or say something funny to make my day brighter. My ultimate career goal (or perhaps fantasy) is to one day write and illustrate a children's book that will become a timeless classic.
