Sitting in front of the keyboards and scratching records is the way we like to conduct our business. We've known each other since junior high and just like to be in our zone. We get together as often as we can to produce our materpieces. Right now, the living room is the practice area and we keep the nieghborhood and household entertained. At least they like the music!

Two turntables and a herd of synthesizers make up the arsenal that is DIV (Divine Intervention). Michael spins the vinyl and I add whatever I can whenever and wherever I can while I record it. Sometimes I like to take a feed of his master mix and run it through the vocoder on the MicroKorg. Once I find the key that the music is in, I can "chord" around his mix. It adds a strange, extra dimension to the overall sound. I also incorporate an Electribe receiving two separate signals from a synthesizers.com Studio 44 cabinet for odd percussion effects. Mike's daughter sings (when we can convince her) over much of our material. She also writes her own songs and has been singing and recording with us since she was five. DIV has released a limited number of vinyl pressings under the alias "Demerol". We may or may not make them available for purchase in the near future, along with future vinyl pressings that we are planning for. As a matter of fact, all of our original compositions (without the use of the turntables) that we produce using Sony Acid exclusively, are no longer than nine minutes or so for this very reason. Of course, there are times when the mix is going so well that it may last as long as an hour.
Runninthings Records' website will also include material from my sister, an up and coming Ambient artist from Madison Wisconsin. I have been recording and collaborating with her since August of 2006 and hope to begin work on a new album project as early as this coming Fall. Also: Look for music from our previous endeavors, "Digistar"(another electronic act) and "Midcoast Bedlam". Bedlam was a strange, music oriented "art club" formed in the mid 80's out of boredom and an unsure feeling about where music in general was headed back then. I have done work with Matt & Tom (check out mattandtom.com) and also appear on many pieces recorded by Bastard Audio.
