Badger's Interests
|
| General | I...LIKE...BASHING BRICKS TOGETHER!
...or, failing that, I have a varied range of interests. I like comic books and video games, I am quite the geek. On the other hand, I also enjoy a good play and some fine food. I can run the gamut from geek to erudite, touching every point in between. Opera? Love it. Classic Rock? Love it. MC Chris? Love it. I can sit and have an hour long conversation about Batman, then turn around and debate free will vs. predeterminism without skipping a beat. There's too many interesting things out there to limit myself.
...also, if you know the quote, you get ten points. | | Music | Yes, please. Except new country, I've never been able to get into it. | | Movies | too...many...to...list!
Sometimes it's fun to watch an awful movie, just to see how bad it truly is. You get to a point where it is so bad, that it becomes good again, but on an entirely different level. | | Television | Scrubs and The Office are some of the funniest things on TV (Scrubs will be, when it comes back.) Arrested Development too, but sadly they are going away. Jon Stewart is the captain of the good ship Funny, plus he's a much smarter man than he lets on. I try to catch the comedy blocks on BBC America when I can. I also have a strange addiction to the Food Network, and will watch almost any show on it (ecept Emerill, he gets on my nerves.) I don't really have much time for tv these days, though I do make the time to watch Smallville every week (I did say I was a geek.) | | Books | um...all of them?
Currently reading: Leviathan by Paul Auster, Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, and Our Sometime Sister by Norah Labiner.
In the queue: The Last Samurai by Helen Dewitt, Salt by Mark Kurlansky, Wolves of the Calla by Stephen King, Story of B by Daniel Quinn, The House of Medici by Christopher Hibbert, Song of Fire and Ice Series (pts.2-4) George R.R. Martin, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K.Rowling, The Visitor, by Sheri S. Tepper, Gödel, Escher, Bach: an eternal golden braid, by Douglas R. Hofstadter
Favorites (in no order): Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein, Grass by Sheri S. Tepper, Naked by David Sedaris, Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.Tolkien, Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino, Riftwar Saga by Raymond Feist, A Sale of Two Titties by Charles Dikkens with two k's, the well-known Dutch author.
Comics: too many to name, though I should mention Fables, Invincible, and Astonishing X-Men as some of the best titles I've read lately. | | Heroes | Joss Whedon is my master now. |

Badger's Blurbs |
About me:
My name is Luka.
I live on the second floor.
I live upstairs from you...
...wait, no I don't, and that's not my name! What the...hey! Some kid keeps stealing my pens! Anyway, I'm not from here, I'm not from anywhere really. I hang around and do entertaining things. Sometimes I take a nap, but more often than not, I don't.
I like being a kid, even though it's been a while since I was of a kid age. I play games and read comics, and ain't no man gonna tell me it's wrong. Actually, I suppose lots of men could tell me it's wrong, but they can just go to hell.

Who I'd like to meet:
I'd like to meet a girl who is cute, smart, and into geeky stuffs like magic and comics. Call me crazy, but I'm sure she must be out there (and married to or dating some guy...that's just how my life works.) I'd also like to meet Abraham Lincoln, he seems like he would be kind of a cool guy to meet. Ooh, and Voltron! Totally want to meet Voltron. I guess other people too, so long as they're smart, funny, and in no way annoying to me.
...but mostly Voltron.
Update: I met the girl! She is all those things and more. I was right, though, she is dating some guy. The guy is me!
Still no sign of Voltron, though.
Update 2: The Second Part: So, that girl...yeah, she's single again. As I understand it, that means I am too.
In other news, I met Voltron! Unfortunately, it was the car Voltron, so I will now revise my statement. I totally want to meet the good Voltron. (Stupid car Voltron...no one loves you!)
