Sounds Like
... sounds like the American West as seen from a housing development that use to be a runway but now borders a prairie.
Runway Estates stars Tennessee native Patrick Porter (camera obsura records/greyday records), Syracuse cowboy Corey Ryan, (Sandusky) and Iowa native Jeffrey Wentworth Stevens (george&caplin, Beta-lactam ring records) as bootgazing vaqueros. When Morton Aurora (Gabriele Ferzetti) , the power-hungry owner of an airline company, hires Frank Stapleton (Henry Fonda, playing against type), a gunfighter without a conscience, to kill anyone who stands in the way of the completion of a prairie runway trouble ensues. After Frank murders land owner Django (Franco Nero), Django's widow (Robin Rozum) hires three killers of her own to protect her and gain revenge: a mysterious, harmonica-sampling desperado (Jeffrey Wentworth Stevens), a mute gunslinger named Silence (Corey Ryan), and a mystical gunman that drags a coffin full of guitars behind him (Patrick Porter). Using techniques previously unseen in the genre, Runway Estates employs droning landscapes and americana traditions to create a psychedelic western score. A tense and somber meditation on the American West as seen from a housing development that use to be a runway but now borders a prairie; Runway Estates is an ambient americana boot gazing fiasco.

Runway Estates has some of the most solid material in Denver, and if anyone says otherwise, I'll smack them in the mouth, promise. On Wednesday I'm going to sit down with this amazingly packaged disc and just go away for awhile...
