    The Famous Nobodies Forever Almost There Ruotomieli started in 1999 in Haukipudas, in the middle of nowhere, louder and moodier than its peers. The band maintains the position with “one foot in the door and one in the gutter”. Ruotomieli's songs rave and stutter about love, hate, freedom, growing and fucking up, need and excess, the struggle for meaningful existence in a world gone wacko, wet rock and roll dreams and the cost of all of the mentioned. Classic rock and roll topics. Sonically it's a cobination of The Who-like windmilling guitar wail, sonic buzzaw of punk, bittersweetness of country, melodic sense familiar from the likes of Tom Petty and Big Star, heartbreak of blues and singer-songwriterism in the vein of Springsteen and Westerberg - possibly the key to the whole thing. Basicly, this is UAR: Urban Adolescent Racket. On stage Ruotomieli aims to confront the audience with the best possible rock and roll songs they can produce. Not going all the way – whatever that means – is not even an option. Somebody has to swim against the current or we all end up in the same place. In a world trying its best to eliminate the freedom of choice, where rock and roll radio is only a memory and where everything has a price tag on it, Ruotomieli – the famous nobodies – believe that its twisting & shouting no-bull prescence could come in handy. The music is here to ease the pains of this mixed-up shook-up world, theirs included. Ruotomieli is here to rock for the things worth rocking for – like life for starters.

The Famous Nobodies Forever Almost There
