THE BUCKET BOYS are TIM RENWICK, STEVE TURNER, WILLIE WILSON, and RICK WORTHY, and they play their own brand of Blues, R’n’Bebop and Rural Swing.
Guitar fans generally get excited when talking about TIM RENWICK. His work in the '70s and early '80s with bands and artists including Eric Clapton, Elton John, David Bowie, Dionne Warwick, The Bee Gees, Kenny Rogers, Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, Little Richard, Mike & The Mechanics, Tom Jones and Pink Floyd ensured that he developed a fan following all of his own.
Tim was part of the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. Of the fact that they were a great band, there is absolutely no doubt. They wrote some of the best songs of the seventies and their music was a soundtrack to a generation of rock fans. To hear them play live was an experience to relish. Their song writing consisted of clever wordplays, wonderful expressions of emotion and a fusion of the folk idiom with rock music, featuring the hit single "Lying in the Arms of Mary". Tim then went on to play with Pink Floyd on tours for “Delicate Sound of Thunder” and “The Division Bell.”
More recently, Tim has found an outlet for his compositional efforts through writing production music. As a result, his playing has found its way onto the soundtracks of numerous movies and television productions. The Bucket Boys is a welcome return to live gigs for Tim.
STEVE TURNER started on the bandstand as a young bass player with his Dad, Ken Turner who was a celebrated band leader in Blackpool in the days of the dance bands. After many summer seasons on bass, in the pit or in pop bands or jazz trios, he saw Quiver and the light! Steve is now a celebrated slide, lap steel and guitar player. He has featured on tours, gigs and recordings with many artists like the great Kirsty Macoll, Ralph McTell, Pete Murphy, Loyd Green, Billy Jo Spears, Howard Hughes and TWA, and Kneehigh Theatre.
Steve joined Rick, his long time gigging associate, way back with Grease Lightning and later they formed Ricky’s Red Rockers. They both also helped Jeanne Patrique Capdevielle get his album to No. 1 in France, and Bunk Dogger and the Dogs, have a high chart single in UK. Steve also teaches music, recently completing a BA degree in Jazz.
Drummer WILLIE WILSON was also with The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. His early work had been with Cochise, who produced two fine albums, before he moved on to Quiver. After SBQ, Willie worked with the touring version of Pink Floyd, performing The Wall, as well as playing on Dave Gilmour's solo albums. He has performed with a range of artists including Tim Renwick, Snowy White and Clem Clemson in The Dolphins blues band. More recently, he worked with The Coyotes, a country music band. He has now teamed up with Tim Renwick again in The Bucket Boys
RICK WORTHY has worked in theatre with Footsbarn, Orchard Theatre, Liverpool Everyman, The Theatre Royal Plymouth, The Hub Theatre School and The Barbican Theatre, Plymouth as an actor, singer and director. He has appeared in countless TV shows and the odd film. He was a founder member of Charlie and The Wideboys on MCA, and played with Steve in Bunk Dogger and the Dogs for RCA, Greased Lightnin', Ricky’s Red Rockers and Jeanne Patrique Capdevielle. He has now teamed up with Steve Turner again and is the singer with The Bucket Boys. Rick also organises events and festivals, notably The Port Eliot Lit Fest in Cornwall.
THE BUCKET BOYS, formed six years ago, have been successfully appearing at Plymouth’s Jazz Café, The Hall for Cornwall, 2003 Cropredy Festival, The 2006 Lanhydrock Blues Festival, with DR. JOHN and THE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA. They have regularly played at The Eden Project as well as numerous pubs and clubs.
They have released three very well received CDs: “BEYOND THE PAIL” “WAXAHOTTY” and the latest: CURRENT CATASTROPHE.
They are an experienced bunch of musicians who have developed their own style and have a lot of fun playing music and laughing together whilst getting the audience involved and laughing along too.
Whenever possible ‘The Boys’ have enjoyed and look forward to the company of their good friends and favourite bass players;CHRIS DUDDLE,
DANNY THOMPSON and DAVE PEGG.

"Every track from the rhythmic ‘NY Cab Ride’ and restless ‘4 Wheel Drive’ to the brooding ‘Mae’s Song’ has a terrific hook but it’s the way Mason switches tempo and moods that makes ALH great fun. " -- Diva Magazine
