Hello, We are Ruskin!!!!!
Ruskin is a four piece rock and roll band from, yes you guessed it, Ruskin BC. Our current line-up consists of Keanan Holness on Bass, Guitar and Vocals. Coal-Bee Morgan on Guitars and Vocals. Joe Chipman on Drums, and also Corey Abell on Bass, guitars and vocals. Having three vocalists and guitar players that often switch up lead, rythem and bass parts has helped us create our own very distinct style. Sometimes however having four prominent songwriters in one band can induce egos and ignorance but with us it falls together like simple clockwork.
Since Joe joined the group a few monthes ago we have played many successful shows including a short tour of Vancouver Island. It is our goal to make sure that our audience becomes intoxicated with entertainment from the very first chord to the last. We promise to put on the best performance we possibly can! We recorded some of the songs your listening to right now in a 120 year old church and also Ruskin Records (a.k.a SHED-ZEPPILEN). Written, recorded and mixed entirely by the band these songs show the independence and the passion that we have towards our music.
We recently recorded more songs for our first EP we're calling "SOUL SEEKS A CITY". We recorded the EP in the Garage studios with help and inspiration from Justin Wong and Christine Church. One solid studio week later we had our rock and roll baby. An EP crying and pumping its fists into the hot air! Mixed at Suite Sound Labs "Soul Seeks a City" is a dynamic rockin' roller coaster for the ears and minds. From sound scapes to straight up rock, even touching into folk, the EP is a picture of young passionate west coast living.
