Jimmy Rogers, Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams, Ferlin Husky, Hank Snow, Hank Thompson, & Little Jimmy Dickens; mucho-mucho thanks to Faron Young & Bill Haley & Johnny Cash, and that night sitting on a hotel room floor playing old gospel songs with a disheveled kid with the strange name of Elvis. Then the influences of Woodie Guthrie, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry & Little Richard. Oh yeah, and Mario Lanza, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee and Judy Garland (strange, but true). Oh yeah 2 ... Liberace -- they dragged me kicking and screaming to meet him, but what a lesson in showmanship. And, most importantly, a bunch of local musicians who played the local country bars when I was a widdle kid -- and my mom used to sneak me in the back doors so I could watch them play. And my life-long friend Chubby Checker who encouraged me back when I was a teenager that I might be successful in the music business. There's more, but this is too long already.

(Now that my My Space seems to be working) Wanted to thank you for the spot in the May 2 show. No gigs for 40 + years, then 2 in a week. Janet's first 2 ever & she played drums. My friend Dr. Pat - on bass - was very impressed with everything about the Auction House. I appreciate the kind words even when I butcher a song on a Wednesday night. See you on the 27th. CC
Great concert Sat. night! It takes alot to entertain for 2 hours with your own material, and you definetly did that. I could see how deeply touched you were when everyone stood up and clapped at the end, it was great. We really dug it!
RUSS! Happy new year! How have you / Trif been since I saw y'all at Godfrey Daniels last year? HI y'all, I'm now playing with Larry Broido (Robert Hazard's former lead guitarist) - looking forward to playing for y'all - Best, Chuck
