Having only been in the industry for just over 2 years Russell Caten has achieved mass amounts. Originally a graduate actor, Russell progressed into the dance music scene by becoming a DJ. With the help of other local well known DJ's in his home town of Southend, Russell became a regular on the scene giving something different to where ever he played. His unique style always captured the interest of people who regularly came to see him play and he never failed to deliver.
The seriousness of his career began in Ibiza 2005, whilst on holiday he met Tim Sheridan @ Space who gave him some advice as to how to become a successful DJ. Fully armed with his demo he was soon making contacts around Ibiza. This soon paid off as he secured a set at the famous Es Veve hotel where he played a few nights and was always giving off a great show. Russell soon got the taste for more! After being inspired by Tim Russell was on the case to secure more gigs in the U.K. Using the popular website dontstayin.com he marketed himself very well and was gaining respect from promoters who soon had an interest for his work. He secured a residency at EGG, London playing for nights 'JET' / 'PROLOUGE' with other big names such as 'KOSHEEN' and many more!

I wanted people to enjoy what I do as much as I do playing and selecting great music for where ever I play. I noticed good DJ's stood out with their signature way of mixing and choosing music, I think I do this well and always engage with my audience''
Russell soon got into promoting events and became a natural at this. He joined forces and co ran 'TOO DAMN GLAM'. This event was one of Essex's biggest nights for 3 years solid and this had started Russell to become a successful promoter that has gained him solid respect within the industry. This led other promoters to ask for his help in running their events. Soon after Russell decided to create his own event |NEON|. A new monthly minimal tech house night held at Shoreditch's plushest bars 'Medicine Bar', many successful events where held here and this soon created waves of interest in the underground scene. Also |NEON| was held at the now closed Key in Kings Cross. His plans to move this event to other venues continues in 2008 where more |NEON| madness will captivate audiences! Also plans for this event will come to Ibiza aswell.
Russell has been a regular DJ on the London underground house for some time now. Playing for nights such as Zombies Ate My Brain, SPACE, Fervor, Digital Graffiti, CITYBEATS, The Gallery, Salacious Records, Abstract, Just The One?, Hat Club, Formula, Glitch! And many more recognisable events. Now Russell's residencies lie in London and Essex playing for I-DJ Mag top voted number 5 night 'AUDIO CHIC', where he has played alongside STEPHAN BODZIN, PHIL KIERAN and many more. Also plans for Russell to join forces with STRIPPED Recordings as a resident will be happening in 2008. (More info for 2008 bookings is below!)
Russell also presented on his own radio show on House.FM (Every Wednesday 2-4pm, playing minimal tech house) & also guested on Unknown.Fm. His hunger for the industry grew more, now he is in production on his own music alongside Mooja's Jonny-Lee. Both are creating impressive TECHNO which will soon be released on their own label |NEON| Noises...Watch this space!!
