Never Take It Too Seriously:
I live in L.A. and there are at least a thousand really talented musicians within a 5 mile radius of any spot I happen to stand. It keeps you very humble, but it’s a cool thing cause most of them are nice folks, and you make friends, share road stories, find new places to play, and show up to support each other’s endeavors.
Of course, there are a few folks who are way too full of themselves. One individual explained to me that he fully expected people to be checking out his butt. If they weren’t, he felt the need to find a mirror and figure out what had gone wrong.
So.............. it occurs to me that if you’re walking away and hear someone say, “Wow, what an ass!”……….. you really need to consider whether it was intended as a compliment.
