Nice people saying nice things:
"Overall, Russenorsk have released a promising debut with solid melodies and lyrics that stand up to repeat listens...now is chance to check them out before everyone knows their name."
-Sam DaMatta, The Fire Note
"...[In a Great Wave of Horns] is a positively striking combustion of dynamic originality and authentic beauty. Mesmeric, melodic guitar intertwines with masterful cello strains that glide from dainty to haunting with immaculate ease, creating a flawless backdrop for Race’s permeating vocals. Race’s voice, beautiful and earnest, drips with a trembling, pervasive honesty that is absolutely captivating."
-Jen Kessler, SpeakeasyMag.com
"The debut album of local band Russenorsk shines as an excellent locally produced work of art. With captivating melodies and beautiful lyrics, In a Great Wave of Horns is an excellent release. "
Russenorsk is an extinct pidgin language commonly used between sailors of the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, Russenorsk is an independent folk/rock trio out of wonderful Athens, Ohio. Combining guitar looping and lyrical folk with walking cello and orchestral percussion, Russenorsk fronts a unique, rewarding sound.

The only reason we're in this band is to become the first band to play in space...once we have that accomplished we'll help you guys out...we don't want to create a space race here! HA!...maybe you can borrow our rocket ship technology since you're nice to us, but good luck figuring it out! It's written in Saturnian, which is really just a fancier wingdings. Stupid Martians.
Thank you! Likewise, beautiful sounds, beautiful arrangements. We're still trying to organize a Columbus/Athens date for July 18th if you're interested!
