After three years of writing and constant performing, two full-length records, wonderful experiences in Athens and on the road, and love and support from friends and family, Russenorsk’s last show will be on September 11, 2009 at the Union in Athens. We couldn’t have asked more from the people around us. You all have not only attended our shows, listened to our music, spent time with us, etc, but you have touched the lives of all three of us. Though the band has separated, new forms will emerge. The past three years have been simply amazing, so we thank you all for growing with us, and for giving us your friendship and love.
Sincerely,
Russenorsk
Thanks for visiting! Here's some info on our band, but if you don't want to read all of that, please take a look at our family portrait.
Comforts is available at Haffa's, Donkey, and online at iTunes and CDBaby.com.
Russenorsk is an independent trio born in the underdog town of Athens, Ohio. Jack and Tim met in between classes and Zach soon caught up. Since then, the band has shared the stage with incredible bands both local and national, put out two albums, scored a film, and eaten mass amounts of Indian food on the road.
"The trio from down Rte. 33 crafts gorgeous indie-rock power ballads with guitar, cello, drums and just a pinch of technology. Their upcoming album, Comforts, promises to be one of Ohio's finest debuts this year."
Chris Deville - Columbus Alive
The album In a Great Wave of Horns is available from the band members. For those of you far from us, it is available on iTunes and CDBaby.com
A huge thank you for growing up though college along side me. Your shows and music were an integral part to what Athens was to me. That little town will never be the same without you.
Russenorsk... You will be missed. The love you shared with both fans and other artists was unmatched. Your records are my favorite records and I will hold on to them tightly for a long time to come.
You guys were always close to my musical heart. It has been a pleasure sharing the stage with you multiple times, releasing our debut together and just growing as musicians.
I wish you the best of luck and hopefully our musical paths will cross again.
One more question for ya. By any chance would you be interested in hosting an Indie on the Move banner on your myspace page or website to help us promote?
