The modern rock band RUSSO is based in the rock-and-roll hotbed of northern New Jersey. After forming through the efforts of singer/songwriter Cris Russo and drummer Kurt Patrick in December of 2006, the group released its debut 4-track EP, "The Moment We’ve All Been Waiting" in May of 2007. 50+ shows and over a million Myspace plays later, RUSSO'S new EP, including new single and title-track, "Vanitas Luxuria," is better than ever.
The band, including guitarists Dave Crum and Dan D’Grote, and bass player Will Sappanaro, has come together to hit a level of creation rivaled only by the top acts in the industry. The music is straight up rock-and-roll, with soaring pop choruses and unforgettable grooves. Fans of Hinder, Velvet Revolver, and Bon Jovi will fall in love with RUSSO’S hard driving beats, meaningful lyrics, high-flying melodies, and epic guitar work.
RUSSO has delighted audiences ever since its first show in August of 2007. In such a short period of time, the band has built an impressive résumé. Included are: a sold out room at Maxwell’s Bar and Grill in Hoboken, NJ, The Northern Star Arena at Six Flags Great Adventure (with Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, and Flo Rida), The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ (with Tragedy and Mr. Brownstone), The Bowery Ballroom in New York City (with The Wildhearts), as well as numerous charity, benefit, small club, and college events in New Jersey and the greater New York metro area.
The high-flying stage performance holds the audience’s attention and leaves them wanting more. Their youthful energy coupled with a mature sound draws in a wide range of listener. There really is something for everyone at a RUSSO event.
