ShockWave, the only award-winning, all-female a cappella group of Rutgers University, has officially made a name for itself as a tour de force of collegiate a cappella.
Founded in the fall of 2004, they hit the ground running and haven't looked back. In the spring of 2006, they advanced to the finals of the international championship of collegiate a cappella, garnering four special award and garnering first place all along the way. In the 2008 ICCA season, they received second runner-up in their quarterfinal bracket, as well as recognition for their outstanding choreography throughout the set.
Also, they were honored with the title of most outstanding student organization at Rutgers University for the 2005-2006 school year, presented to them by r=Rutgers Alegria.
And in 2007, their first cd, "... to the wall!", hit the ears of fans across the country!
Though they're still young, ShockWave is now a group as well-known among a cappella fans as any other Rutgers group to come before them. and they're just getting started!
Their new album, “BREAKTHROUGH,” will be released December 4th, 2009, so make sure you preorder your copy now!
