Welcome to my page... Well, when I was little I drove my family mad by constantly singing into the handle of my skipping rope - but here I am, a jazz singer with an album out, international distribution and some great reviews... can't resist a yippee!!!
I was a good girl first though, and got a real job after leaving uni. I actually really enjoyed raising millions of pounds for charity organising fundraising events, but I couldn't stay off the stage for long, and the singing gradually took over. But all that time immersing myself in various social and environmental causes left its mark, so you'll see a bit of alternative subject matter in my songs...
When it comes down to it, storytelling is my thing - nothing makes me happier than making people both laugh and cry! My repertoire is pretty broad, from jazz and latin standards to French chansons (Piaf, Brel) and German kabaret (Weill, Hollaender) as well as originals.
Singing has taken me to some cool places so far - not least 10 Downing Street and Elton John's house. My album 'Refashioned' came out in October, and launching it with a live gig on BBC Radio with 3 million people listening was pretty cool, but scary too.
I couldn't do any of this without my brilliant band - most of all Jonny Gee who is my MD, arranger, and ever-cheerful double-bass player. I love you guys.
