Ruth Paxton is an impassioned young Edinburgh filmmaker and artist who recently graduated from a Post-Graduate diploma in Film at Screen Academy Scotland via Edinburgh College of Art. For seven years she has focused on writing, directing, producing and designing for an eclectic mix of projects; encompassing fiction, non-fiction, experimental and music video. Ruth’s films are bold and powerful and she has a unique way of visualising, stylising and capturing the intimacy and complexity of deeply human tales.
Primarily a writer/director, Ruth has developed a strong sensibility in relation to culture, art and fashion and as an individual with definite and defined stylistic vision, she is developing skills in production design and art direction for both film and stills.
Collaborative relationships with family, friends and fellow artists are essential to Ruth’s method and she is keen to expand these working relationships to create fresh, new work. Ruth is focussed on her career in writing and directing for narrative and experimental drama, while pursuing opportunities to direct and design for music videos. She is currently working in the industry as a designer on various projects while developing a new Short film project with her producer.
A born director.

PARTAKE IN SOME HOT SPARKLING SHADAZZ, WASHED DOWN WITH A SPOT OF MYSTERY JUICE!
A Hot Club Dundee Special...
The Hot Club plays a mixture of rock'n'roll, rockabilly, doo-wop, psychobilly, garage, freak, fuzz, psychedelic, and so on.
Sparkling Shadazz are a noisy demented surf band from Glasgow and Spain. Relative newcomers, they recently engulfed the Hey You Get Off My Pavement festival in a howling storm.
Mystery Juice are a sleazy Horror R'n'B and trashobilly outfit from Edinburgh, signed to Fence Records. Think Grinderman/Badseeds meets Uncle John & Whitelock. Sorta.
Hugo Paris is a DJ Based in London, running nights such as Bad to the Bone (rock'n'roll etc), Rattle Shack (disco and early house, chicago etc) and Nice Time (dancehall).
Marquiss de Merchant-o-Menace is also based in London and is in the Phantom Band (chemikal underground recs) and Omnivore Demon. He plays a bunch of far-out stuff.
