About me:
I am a writer, comedian and actress. I live in London.
A non-exhaustive list of things I like - 50's rockabilly, rock n roll, blues, 50s vintage clothes, Greek Tragedy, Shakespeare, The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock, acting, surreal / alternative comedy (The Boosh, Flight of the Conchords, Spaced, Big Train, that sort of thing), Audrey Hepburn, James Dean, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Janis Martin, Sex and the City, Doctor Who, The Muppets, leaping manically about, dancing all night to rockin tunes, singing, attempting to make my own clothes, unusual vintage buttons, 50s prints, going on adventures, funny little cats trapped in the rain; the smell of cut grass; waking up from a horrible dream and realising everything is fine; strangers who wear hilariously ill-considered outfits; monkeys, coffee (though damn it, I can now only drink decaf or I get insomnia), satsumas (taste like christmas), New York, wine, reading, indie films (me and you and everyone we know, Napoleon Dynamite, Lars & the Real Girl etc...pretty much anything that's on at an arts cinema), Manolo Blahnik, drawing cartoon monsters, learning new languages, writing songs / comedy / plays, making films, the boy.
My website is www.ruthpickett.co.uk - although it's not been updated for an absolute age. I'll get around to it one day.
Good to hear from you, thank you for the tip off about Project V! It looks great, they are amazing, well done. I also enjoyed Joe's contributions, very funny.

Hey Pickett, it's about time we caught up. I heard good things from Edinburgh, by the way. Apparently the smoking ban's a hoot and a half. And you, m'dear, and you. T
I'm really enjoying your bloggage on Chortle especially the poetry and "off the wall" stuff.
To me it's merely the perfectly normal expression of someone with a sense of hyper-reality.
