Hi, as a player I'm into Blues,Funk,Soul As a listener, JAZZ ,blues, funk and soul and some country .I was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, NY. For me Mt. Vernon was a veritable hotbed of musical activity, and growing up in such a culturally diverse city I was fortunate enough to be exposed to many different styles of music. In 1973 I began playing professionally I've studied with guitarist Mike Fradella,jazz guitarist Melvin Sparks,and Jazz guitarist Conor Lyons.I've have performed at Trumpets jazz club in Montclair NJ.,Club Groove in Greenwich Village,12 grapes in Peekskill, NY., Mexicali Blues in Teaneck, NJ. Lucille's at BB King's in N.Y.C. I've worked with Nikki Armstrong, Kristian Rex and the Hooligans, The Roxy Perry Band, Mojo Freddie and the Blues Blasters. Blues singer Tom (Blues Buddha) Dudley.
Good to hear from you. Everything is OK here. Just finishing up the semester at the college. I am taking a sabbatical next semester because I've been hired by Alfred Publishing to write a book on Latin Guitar. I've also been working on a solo project, that's what the gig at Cafe Mozart is about. Cafe Mozart a small place close to my home where I can play some of this new material live. I've also been doing some more string arranging and I might have a couple of small Soul Jazz projects coming up.
Hey Ron. Thanks for the comment. I haven't been on here in a while. It was great to jam with you. You and that Red Strat/Red amp sound great together. Did you do the Georgetown the following Sat? My gig was cancelled that night. I hope to see you soon. (tonight?)
