General	Lots of other stuff, but here I just want to find people to help out our bagpipe band.
Music	This myspace site is to support the RVR Pipes and Drums (RVRPD) (see my The Sustainable Way site in friends for personal stuff). After spending 30 years in Toronto, Canada I moved to Melbourne, Australia. In 1998 I was invited to help out with RVRPD, because there was a shortage of bagpipers. Almost ten years on there is still a shortage of bagpipers and drummers; the net numbers remain unchanged. We welcome John Cutler back and look forward to his leadership. I remain involved as a piper and will be posted on to some other duties in another unit. I suspect that in due course we will have some excellent pipers and drummers with John's tutelage. Books	People who are (OR WANT TO BECOME) bagpipers or drummers. you can read more at: www.intergon.net/rvrpd We rehearse each Thursday at our depot: 202 Burwood Road, Hawthorn Opportunity for Young Pipers/Drummers If you want to take over our Ps&Ds you could turn it into your own. We are all getting on and need to hand over to a new guard. Quite an opportunity, as it is fully funded and you even get paid to pipe/drum. All you need to do is front up and participate. There are four six-week piper drummer courses that you can take - and be paid to attend - run by world-class pipers and drummers at the Defence Force School of Music. We are keeping things going for you to carry on We are not a grade 1 competition band now, but we were in the 1980s; and if the right people join, the Pipes and Drums of 5/6RVR could again be a grade 1 competition champion band.
