River's Companies
River Wolfe Art Jewelry Columbus, OH US Artist/owner
I live in Ohio right now but grew up in Dallas, Tx. I'm a jewelry artist and novice web designer.
My interests include making jewelry, mostly using lampworked beads and my own handmade beads using Polymer Clay.
I am currently training my german shepherd Scout to be a service dog. I absolutely love animals of any kind. Someday I might decide it's time to begin a site devoted to dogs and the people they help, possibly even teach a few tricks of the trade.
My website Polymer-Clay-Art.com is a site in which I share my 15yrs of experience working with Polymer Clay. I thought it would be a great idea to have some information for beginners who are just starting out and enthusiasts who woudl like to share some of their ideas as well. The interactive function isn't working right now, but will be soon, I promise!

Who I'd like to meet: Stephanie Miller, Randi Rhodes, Thom Hartman, Lucinda Williams, Dali Lama, Rachel Maddow, Kate Moenig, Susan Sarandon, Obama. Anyone who is into polymer clay and making a living as an artist. I also would like to hear from any webmasters out there with the time to share some tips with a novice like myself!
Dog and animal lovers are welcome of course!
If you live in North Carolina, please help spread the word and encourage young people to go out and vote, right now, by posting up this flyer at colleges, universities, malls, and even high schools (click on it):

Please post more pics of your work soon. I'd love to see them!
Here's my latest sculpt.
Hope you enjoy it...
It's a Vejigante (Veh hee gan tay) in the traditional style of the town of Loiza Aldea in Puerto Rico.
Vejigantes are characters who participate in various Patron Saint Festivals (carnivals) in the towns in Puerto Rico. They get their name from a combination of the words vejiga meaning bladder and gigante meaning large or giant. They usually have in their hands large inflated animal bladders that are brightly painted that are used to hit people with. LOL!
Loiza is the town that has the highest concentration of Puerto Rico's black descendants and keeps the culture of our African (Yoruba) traditions alive. The masks are made from coconut shells in the African tradition.
Rumor has it that coconuts were not originally indigenous to the Caribbean but brought to the islands by the slave trade. Coconuts being transported on slave ships would often fall overboard, get washed ashore and embed themselves into the coast line where they would germinate and reproduce.
