hey dude. there is this musical adaptation of Elmer Rice's play The Adding Machine happening in chicago right now at a theatre i'm an Artistic Associate of called Next Theatre (it's more like an opera; they call it a "chamber musical"). There was recently a huge write-up of it and two other shows in chicago in The New York Times two days ago. if you go online you'll still see it in the Theatre section, i bet. it's composed by this amazing concert composer/musician named Joshua Schmidt out of Brooklyn. the whole time i was listening to it, i kept thinking of you and saying to myself "god, i wish Ryan was hearing this! we need to do this kind of thing together!".
Sat down last night and pulled Lady Stardust out of my piano. Can't believe I still rememeber it. I recall staying in my room for 3 hours learning that song by ear so I could play it at "Rumors" rehearsal just to try and impress you. Did it work? Glad to see (and hear) you're doing so well. There are times where I wish I could still see that castle in the clouds we ventured to that day at lunch ;)
...a little late...but HAPPY BIRTHDAY ryan!! brian and i totally remembered when we were looking at vintage coats in LA....for some reason, we thought of you! ha. :D hope you had a good one!!!
