Following on the heals of his critically acclaimed album Causewayend, This life was written over the past three years. This new material blends the pride in his Scottish heritage and his infectious passion for life. This combination has led to a wonderfully inspired CD that reflects his heritage and roots, utilizing smatterings of his native tongue, Doric – a unique dialect spoken in North East Scotland – as well as two fabulously crafted love songs and several social commentary songs built around his strong rhythmic acoustic guitar playing, melodic vocals, and pop/folk inclinations.

Donn’s song In This life has just been selected for the 2008 Music B.C. compilation CD, while There For You is the first single released off the new CD and is receiving rave reviews through media and is being played daily in rotation on SILK FM, KISS FM, and 15 other stations across B.C.
This Life is a superb encore CD to Ryan’s inaugural 2005 album, Causewayend. Causewayend, in it’s masterful lyrics and appeal, provided many opportunities for Donn including performing with 54-40, a tour of Japan and Expo 2005, and winning Male Performer of the Year 2005 at the Okanagan Music Awards.

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this folk-carol on myspace... Poem 230 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (see my blog for details): CHRISTMAS SUNG SIMPLY
As gospellers have said, Beneath signalling skies, On land dusty to tread, A trough in a stable Was the strawy first-bed Of a divine baby - The forgiving Godhead.
A season for new hope - There then and here now; The yuletide of goodwill - There then and here now.
In respect of this chance, Beneath bright or dark skies, Faith's the star that we glance Attending Christ's churches And trying to enhance, With singing and ritual, Our God-loving stance.
Ryan, hello my amazing musician friend! I hope you had a great time in Europe. I'm so excited for all the little miracles you have entering your life right now. I wish you many blessings! Your music and your voice is always amazing to listen to. When I get back home this autumn, we must work on that duet! Peace to you my friend, Leah
Heya Ryan! Just wanted to say that the gig last night with Yvonne was great. LOVED your music! Hope you come back to Glasgow soon so I can se you play again. :) Good luck with the rest of the tour!
we played unplugged at Tonelli's last year and it was a great experience. It's a very atmospheric place. Don't be misled by the facade. Looked a bit run down from the outside last year.
