Sounds Like
Ryan's originals bare the mark of his many influences. Mostly acoustic, his solo album cuts have a jazzy, folky, bluesy and pop feel to them. The jazziness comes from the many unconvential chord progressions he uses. The folkiness comes from the storyteller-aspects of his song's lyrics, and his lead lines have a very bluesy feel to them.
After years of playing in local Moncton bands, Ryan Gallant is finally laying down tracks for his first solo album. Mainly acoustic, he hopes the album will be out sometime in 2008, probably in August/September. The sound owes much to bands such as the Foo Fighters, Bright Eyes, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and Nirvana.
Recently, Ryan married his longtime girlfriend, Sonia. He also plays in a local band, Manic, as a lead guitarist/singer.
