Yes, I play music, and yes I make a living doing this. No, I am not the richest man out there and some months I make more than others, but I am blessed to get to do what I love and what countless others love to do, make music, and that is all that matters to me. I am very passionate about what I do and I work very hard at it. I write a lot of music, but about 75% of the songs I write I will never end up using and noone will ever hear them, but that is all good, I believe that the more you write the better your songwriting will get. I also believe that as you grow older and experience more and more in life, you mature as a writer. My favorite thing to do is sit alone in my room writing, me and the guitfiddle, just ask all those that are closest to me! I am a hermit that hides out late at night to write when you put a guitar in my hand. This lifestyle is not always easy, sometimes it can be very depressing and emotional, but I believe that these are the moments in life that make you grow as a person. I was talking to a good friend and musician, Micah Dalton, about the hard times we both have experienced on the road and it is very encouraging to have close friends that are going through some of the same struggles. I am about to finish up my 4th album which I am really stoked about. My goal is to top the last record off, you know, make each record that much better then the last, to grow as an artist with my writing and creating. Even if it does not do well, know that I love it and we worked hard on it. I am about to do a huge name dropping session so bare with me and I apologize for my actions for I know how terrible it is to name drop especially being in the entertainment business, but at the same time I have to give credit where credit is due. I worked with Grammy Award winning producer Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay, Bebo Norman) in Nashville, TN and we had a great time. He was great to work with and I know we came up with a excellent album. Obviously, I played guitars and sang the songs, we had Aaron Sands (regular Nashville studio musician) play bass, Andrew Osenga (of "Caedmon's Call") playing guitars, mandolin, and a few other instruments, Andy Hubbard (of "Little Big Town") on the drums, Matt Slocum (of "Sixpence None the Richer") playing cello, Andrea Zonn (violin player for "James Taylor") tracking the fiddle, Kenny Hutson (of "Vigilantes of Love") playing some mandolin and pedal steel, Ben Shive (who is a beast in Nashville because he is almost too talented for his own good) on piano, rhodes, organ, and accordion, good friend and musician Jon Black came in to play a little harmonica action for us, Mitch made use of his hands and shook the shaker and hit the tambourine, and three of us tracked a nice little clapping section, oh yes, we have a clapping section on this album. Matt Odmark (of "Jars of Clay") will be mastering the album as well. So there is the cast and crew and this new album which I have chosen to call "LOVE & WAR" and we are looking at releasing this with Bad Boy records (joking) on January 30th, 2007. Jason Harwell (of "Rebuilt Records") and I are doing the album art/cover together, A to Z Media in New York will be pressing it, and Awarestore, cdbaby, and other online distibutors will be selling it online as well as iTunes and the million other download services that have taken over the world of music in the past few years. I hope that you all enjoy this disc, I sure do, so maybe everyone else will, we will see.
